About DTI
Over the past 18 years, the Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) has successfully offered adult upgrading and skills training programs to Métis people across Saskatchewan. With a vision of “Helping Build Brighter Futures” for our Métis people and communities, and following a philosophy of “Learners Come First,” DTI has been instrumental in helping to reshape Métis lives and communities across the province.
DTI’s community-based delivery approach is one of our most important features. Community-based delivery improves access and ensures Métis students have opportunities close to home. Coupled with the Institute’s cultural focus, the accessibility of training programs helps attract Métis students who may not otherwise participate in post-secondary programs.
With the help of our excellent staff, DTI has formed and maintained strong partnerships with a variety of organizations throughout Saskatchewan. For example, DTI works in partnership with SaskEnergy, the Ministry of Highways, and the Saskatoon Health Region.
Through curriculum enhancement and Métis-specific programming, by working cooperatively with other institutions and agencies to improve Métis participation and success in the education system, and by ultimately developing a skilled Métis workforce that will meet local, regional, and national labour market needs, DTI is proud of the strides that we have made over the years to help meet the needs of Métis learners.
