SaskEnergy
Incorporated Scholarship Program
The
SaskEnergy Incorporated Scholarship was established in 1998. SaskEnergy
has made a five-year commitment to the Gabriel Dumont Institute
(GDI) and Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) to fund scholarships
for a total of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) annually, per Institute.
These
scholarships are intended to reward academic achievement, encourage
pursuit of education leading to employment, and provide monetary
assistance.

Who is Eligible?
The
scholarships are awarded to Métis students who apply directly from
high school or who are attending a GDI or DTI program. The scholarships
are open to any student who is registered as a full-time student
in the following disciplines:
Business
Administration
Environmental
Studies
General
Science
Commerce
Accounting
Economics
Personnel
management
Law
Computer
Science
Trades
Arts
and Sciences S
Engineering
Public
Administration
Marketing
Office
Administration
Political
Economy
To
be eligible, students must:
be a Saskatchewan resident for two yeas prior to application;
be a full-time student taking a full course load, and be enrolled
in one of the designated disciplines;
obtain a minimum 80% average in Grade 11 and 12 academic studies;
demonstrate financial need; and
provide proof of Métis ancestry
The
scholarships will be awarded twice a year, in the spring and fall.
The dates will be set in conjunction with the meeting of the trustees.
Scholarships can be awarded to a maximum of Five Thousand Dollars
($5,000) per recipient.
The
Scholarship recipient must pass all courses and achieve a minimum
of 65% average during the first semester of study to be eligible
to receive the second installment for the second semester.
