SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN The Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) is pleased to announce the induction of several individuals into the Order of Gabriel Dumont in Saskatoon at the GDI 30th Anniversary and Cultural

On February 11, 2012 the Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) will announce the renewal of their federation agreement, which provides for collaboration on matters of academic interest. Under the agreement, DTI, as the training institution of choice for the Métis, offers fully accredited SIAST courses and programs to Métis people in Saskatchewan.

Gabriel Dumont Institute Training and Employment adopts policy and procedure  changes to align with new fedral funding agreement.

Building Relationships with the Métis communities around Grasslands National Park, Fort Battleford, and Fort Walsh National Historic Sites, Fall 2011

The Gabriel Dumont Institute, in partnership with Parks Canada, is looking
for people who can share Métis history, information and stories about Fort
Battleford, Fort Walsh, and Grasslands National Park, and the surrounding
areas around the Battlefords, Maple Creek, Swift Current, Val Marie, Wood
Mountain, Rockglen, and Willow Bunch. The partners are looking to identify
and interview Métis community members who have a connection to these
historically and culturally significant places.

Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research (GDI) and the Saskatoon Health Region (SHR) have partnered to jointly provide scholarships to Métis students in pursuit of post-secondary education leading to health careers in the following fields:

The importance of Métis veterans to the Métis community cannot be understated. Our veterans occupy a point of honour at all Métis gatherings and cultural events.The Métis Veterans Memorial Monument will be a landmark for generations of Métis people to gather and pay homage to the servicemen and servicewomen who have served our country

GDI Opens New Apprenticeship Office
